Myagkova E.U (Moscow-Kursk) On the problem of emotinal units of individual lexicone. The results of experimental study of emotional meaning of 44 Russian words is presented together with the discussion of the main problems arising in investigating emotions and their verbal representations. Among them are listed emotion taxonomy, conscious and unconscious levels of emotional information processing, specific character of emotional meaning and terminology. Psycholinguistic approach to the word as a special unit of mental lexicon allows to view its emotional meaning as a complex (continuum) of affective experiences connected with the particular word. In this context the main feature of emotional meaning is its indivisibility. This means that all its components function as a complex and depend on each other; they function at different levels of consciousness, and are to a different degree influenced by social and cultural factors. This approach gives the opportunity to fix and describe the emotional meaning of a word by experimental methods.
