HERMENEUTICS TECHNIQUES AS COGNITIVE MODELS OF FICTION UNDERSTANDING
ABSTRACT
Hermeneutics techniques are viewed here as cognitive models of understanding process activated by the recipient while reading belletristic texts. It is stressed that different text devices program the usage of specific cognitive models. There are given some examples of hermeneutics techniques syncretism. It is underlined that in some cases one of the cognitive models may occupy a dominant position, but better understanding of the text may be achieved if a set of cognitive models is applied. It is concluded that the number of techniques used and comprehension achieved depend largely on the developed linguistic personality of a recipient and his experience of working with the texts of culture. The horizon of text comprehension is set by the text itself but the extent of its opening up to the reader is regulated by the above mentioned factors.
